In 2017, India’s mobile market grew by more than 30%. According to Counterpoint Research, Chinese brands captured 54% of the market up from 34% the previous year. However, Indian brands like Micromax and Lava did perform well. Xiaomi registered a staggering growth of 259% last year followed by Vivo (115%) and Oppo(104%). Further, $150-$230 was the fastest growing segment with 52% market share driven by strong perfomance of Xiaomi. Another achievement of Xiaomi was that it dethroned Samsung to be the leading brand in the CY 2017.

With Reliance & Airtel giving great data packages to it’s customers, Indian mobile phone market seems promising.
The proliferation of mobile phones began a few years ago and now the concept has been elevated to mobile smartphones which have become an important fashion accessory too.
This phenomenon took firm roots into every society across the world after the digitalization of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry.
Today mobile smartphones are used in a wide array of applications with the ability to browse the internet and attend to a variety of daily chores from the comfort of your home.
Paying bills, buying stuff from online stores, making flight bookings, ordering a table at a restaurant and a host of other possibilities are at your fingertips with just a tap on the mobile smartphone.
The digital world that we have stepped into has completely changed the way we do things and at the center of all possibilities is the mobile smartphone.
The war of the smartphones
The leading operating systems vying for the larger piece of the digital mobile smartphone telecommunications cake are Apple with their iOs and the Android platform.
The Android platform is being used by many big time manufacturers introducing some very superlative models and that is keeping Apple under check.
Cheaper brands operating on the Android platform are leaving the shores of China, to enter the world market which has put Apple in a quandary due to the huge differences in prices.
